On many other forums I see endless ammounts of threads asking about whether or not if X power tube is a good investment. How is the air efficiency? Does it make it quieter?
Quite frankly the only benefeit of an after market power tube for any Tippmann marker is the fact that you do not have to worry about it breaking. Most, if not all, after market power tubes are made of metal. They will not make the marker any more quiter than the stock power tube. Also they will not affect the air efficiency of the marker either. They are made from the same specifications of the stock power tube.
Since the only real benefeit of after market power tubes for the Tippmann markers is the fact that you do not have to worry about them breaking the cost does not really make them a good investment. Very rarely does a power tube break on a Tippmann. If it does break you are better off spending the money on another stock power tube.
The only time I see someone needing a metal power tube is if they have a tendacy to do a lot of work on their marker. Specifically if you are constantly removing what ever air line or fittings you may have going into the power tube.
Even though I am constantly working on the air system of one of my 98C's, I still have not gotten a metal power tube. Mainly because I see no need to since the stock one is not broken. If it is not broke why fix or replace it?
