Many players, especially newer players, think that you need a ghillie suit to be stealthy and invisible in the woods. However this is not the case. All you need is some subdued clothing and some patience. You don't neccessarally need camo clothing, however it helps.

You need to be willing to move slowly when heading to where you want to go. If your destination is in a clearing stick to the tree line until you get close to where you want/need to go. Once you are close slowly get into the clearing while staying low. Your best best is to crawl into the area as this will give you minimum exposure to the opposing players. If you start to take fire from the other side just stop for a while and they will eventually forget about that movement in the grass they saw.

The last game I went to I happened to disappear while an opposing player was looking right at me. This was during a mission that took place in the dried lake basin at the field. When I started to take fire I dropped down to the ground and pulled back a bit. I then swung around a nearby shrub keeping it between myself and the other player. I popped out around the other side of the shrub and sent a few round towards him. I eliminated him, but unfortunately for me he had a friend with him hiding in the tree line.

Another thing to consider is laying in wait seemingly out in the open. If there is tall grass pick a spot that you can see out of, but they cannot see into. Preferably you want to be in a shaded area since it is harder to see into shadows. Obviously you want this to be in an area where potential targets are highly likely to walk through. Remember you do not want to shoot at the first person you see. Instead wait until the line walks past and start taking them out from the back. Be ready to move quickly though because they will turn around and start shooting at the area where the shots came from.

An example of a good "sniper" hide in mostly open area would be a small area with shrub that you can get into easily. Ideally you want one that has only one way in and you can shoot out from all sides. Also you want to be sure that the opposing players cannot shoot into if possible. The only way they would be able to eliminate you would be to swing around to the open area that you came into the shrubs. If set up propperly they won't be able to get to you without getting eliminated.
